The Bushcraft Skills Course builds upon the foundation taught in the Wilderness Skills Course, transitioning from basic survival techniques to utilizing natural resources and skills to replace gear. This 4-day/3-night course focuses on identifying and using materials from the land to meet your needs in any environment, making knowledge a valuable and weightless resource. Adapt these skills to any location worldwide.
Whether venturing into the wilderness for recreation, exploration, or bushcraft, your basic needs remain constant. Keep your body temperature regulated with appropriate clothing, fire, and shelter. Other priorities include hydration, calorie intake, rest, first aid, navigation, signaling, and proficient use of tools. Improve your skills by learning to use natural resources and intermediate mapping and navigation methods.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of bushcraft skills under the guidance of a skilled instructor in a secure environment, ensuring safety while honing these vital skills. Students will emerge with newfound confidence and the ability to independently practice and refine these skills.
The Bushcraft Skills Course is designed for intermediate-level students. By design, and for the best experience and chance of success, it is recommended that students first complete the Wilderness Survival Course before enrolling in the Bushcraft Skills Course, but it is not required. Please note that due to time constraints, our cadre will not be able to catch up students who do not possess the necessary skills upon arrival. However, if you have read this course description in its entirety, along with the course cancellation and refund policy, and would still like to attend this course you may do so.
This course employs a progressive method of instruction, moving from "crawl" to "walk" and finally to "run." Initially, students will be guided by an experienced cadre but will eventually be expected to showcase their mastery autonomously through Practical Applications. Ultimately, students will be tested under varying degrees of pressure to confirm their competence.
Please see the for required and optional gear along with recommendations for the best gear for the course.
